Shazam, Shazam, Shazam! In this new age
we all reside in, it’s nothing like it used to be when trying to figure
out what the name of a song was, or who is singing in the back ground. I
remember around the time when I was in high school; cruising around
town or on my way to school, I always had my favorite radio station on.
When a song I liked would start playing I had no fancy gizmos, (I talk
like I was born in the Stone Age), that would tell me what song was
playing. I had to rely on a friend riding with me or had to jot down
what time I heard the song so that when I returned back home I could
look up the songs title in that specific time slot online.
Well that was years ago and as it feels, light years before the life made simple apps like Shazam existed. The only thing that slows me down at this point is when I’m at a live venue. My poor android phone doesn’t have a natural compressor built into the mic that can turn down the volume of music to clearly depict the audio band; so it comes out a gargled mess. But for those of you that are not in my situation, Shazam gives you most of the worlds music at your fingertips.
Here’s a good example of the power that this app holds. Tomorrowland 2014 had record high reports of people Shazaming their ways through various DJ sets. Of the massive line-up that this festival hosted; here are the top ten tracked that where Shazamed!
10. R3hab & Deorro – Flashlight
09. David Guetta Ft Avicii & Sam Martin – Lovers On The Sun
08. ZHU – Faded
07. Secondcity – I Wanna Feel
06. Netsky Ft. Beth Ditto – Running Low
05. Ummet Ozcan – Raise Your Hands
04. Dimitri Vegas & Moguai & Like Mike – Mammoth
03. Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman X Steve Angello – Payback
02. Watermät – Bullit
01. Dimitri Vegas & Martin Garrix & Like Mike – Tremor
Would you have Shazamed these tracks? Or do you know them by heart?
